We make one perfume and we make it slowly. Ember — warm, woody, oriental — is poured, numbered and sealed by hand in Dubai. The first batch is eighty bottles.

The Name

Three names,
carried.

Three names. Hesham, his father. Mahmoud, his grandfather. Yahya, his great-grandfather. Ahmed — the fourth generation — carries them, and makes the perfume by hand in Dubai.

H for Hesham. M for Mahmoud. Y for Yahya. Ahmed's own initial is not on the bottle — the name belongs to the three men before him. What he adds is the work: one perfume, made slowly, poured and numbered by hand. We make heirlooms, not scents.

One warm woody oriental, built from a short list. These are the notes — named plainly, the way we would tell you in person.

Top Note

Cardamom

Cracked green and a little cold at first — the breath before the warmth, gone before you can name it.

Heart Note

Incense

The center of Ember. Slow smoke over resinous woods — the note people lean in to ask about.

Base Note

Amber

Honeyed and quiet — the glow underneath everything else.

Vetiver

Dry roots and cool earth, keeping all that warmth honest.

Soft and almost edible — it rounds the base without turning it sweet.

Present, not loud — a low, dark wood, kept gentle on purpose.
